Warriors prepare for second half against the Generals
LYNN, MA- The Western Mass Warriors get back on track by way of their 20-9 defeat of the North Shore Generals. The game was a rematch of the 2012 NEFL AAA Championship won by the Warriors. “Seeing those guys did spark some memories of that game” said Junior Williams, “however, this is a new year and new team and we needed to get in the win column”.
Warriors quarterback Chris Boarders found receivers Chris Macharie and Darius Rainnie with scoring passes to pace the offense. A great team defensive effort held the Generals to just over 100 yards of offense for the game. Vitaly Dzhenzherolew led the day with 4 tackles and Brandon Cooper recorded 3 quarterback sacks. Garrett Kendziera pulled in an interception which is his second in as many weeks to lead the Division.
The Warriors hit the road this weekend as they take on their rival the Hartford Whalers. This battle is in two different states but is only separated by 20 miles. “We have had guys from the Hartford area on our team and they’ve had Springfield guys on theirs” said Junior Williams, “us being so close always makes for a great game”.
