About the Regina

Regina High School is very proud of its athletic tradition and accomplishments throughout the Catholic League and the State. Regina High School Hockey program affords girls the opportunity to participate in a competitive sport. In addition to the development of physical skills, Regina Hockey program teaches students important lessons about teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and good sportsmanship.  Regina School spirit is second to none and is shown in courtesy, pride, and sportsmanship whether at home or away! Students with spirit have pride in their school and they graduate after four years carrying great memories that last a lifetime! We have built a strong 'Saddlelite' Hockey tradition that we hope to continue for many years to come.

Program

Regina / Lutheran North United Hockey we are committed to nurturing student-athletes to further their passions. College and Universities are NOT looking for female hockey players that are playing on Boy’s teams, whereas Girls High School hockey promotes their players by attending the Traverse City Challenge and the High School Showcase where College scouts and College coaches are in attendance. Every year Regina / Lutheran North United coaches are in personal contact with Colleges from across the state including Grand Valley, Adrian, CMU, Robert Morris University, Concordia University, Aquinas University, and The University of Michigan, just to name a few. Regina / Lutheran North United coaches will do everything in their ability to promote prospective student-athletes to their school of your choice.

Regina / Lutheran North United Hockey skates after school 3 times a week at Monday, Wednesday at 5:30 pm, and Thursdays at 5:00 pm, this allows you more homework time and social time. Compared to most travel teams that start usually after 8:00 pm. We try not to skate on weekends whereas most Travel teams play on weekends, plus having to drive hours and hundreds of miles for a single game.

One of the misconceptions of High School Hockey is competition is not strong, yes there are girls who are tier 3 players, but the majority of the completion are tier 2 players and even tier 1 players.
