Militia starts season 2-0

OFF AND RUNNING
HARTFORD, CT- The Western CT Militia starts the season 2-0 with help from their 28-12 win over the Hartford Whalers.
Kevin Oberg paced the passing attack with scoring connections to receivers Edwin Heath (27 yards) and Dwight Franklin (14 yards). Oberg also chipped in with his legs with a 12 yard scoring run. Running back Lionel Assie also had a ten yard touchdown on the ground. All Star kicker Andy Benzicewicz finished the game 4 for 4 in PAT.
The Militia defense continued their dominating play with sacks recorded by Jasper Ramsey, Joe Costanzo (2), Tim Pratt, Joe Burnett, Anthony Aponte, Mike Swartz, and Mike Swan. Interceptions were made by Courtney Moultrie, Davon Hardy, and Tyrone Breece.
This week the Militia will host their division opponent Connecticut Panthers in their home opener at Militia Valley Stadium.
