Knights Win Springfield Battle

The Knights huddle to discuss their game plan

SPRINGFIELD, MA-In the battle of the NEFL’s two Springfield area teams, the Pioneer Valley Knights pulled out a late game victory by winning 6-0 over the Western Mass Warriors at American International College.

A fourth quarter run by the Knights Mar Smith was the only score of the game and was enough to earn a victory over the host Warriors. “We knew this was going to be a game that would go every bit of it’s’ four quarters” said a NEFL Representative, “it was all we imagined it would be.”

The Springfield area is one of the “football rich” areas in the NEFL. In 2012, the Warriors went undefeated in the NEFL winning the AAA crown. The Warriors went on to win the Northeast Regional Championship and the National Championship in Deland, Florida. Last season the Knights had an impressive season winning the NEFL AA Championship and were invited to play in a nationally accredited bowl game. “It’s a lot of talent in that area; we expect big things from both of these programs in the future.”
