Bandits Clinch #1 Seed
- Updated: September 30, 2019
The Boston Bandits secured the #1 seed in the Colonial Conference playoffs by defeating the Middleboro Cobras 19-0 at West Roxbury Academy. The Bandits appeared to have taken a quick lead when Andre Williams ran the opening kickoff back 85 yards, only to have it called back for a blind side block away from the play. No matter, the Bandits would score when Giovanni Sanders connected with Bernard Davis on a 54 yard strike down the sideline. The PAT failed leaving the score at 6-0 Bandits.
Later in the first quarter the Bandits took advantage of a bad punt exchange to cash in for a score when Sanders found Davis in the end zone for a 4 yard spectacular one handed catch. The Lima PAT pushed the Bandit lead to 13-0. The Bandit kept the pressure on when Sanders found Kevin Lovaincy across the middle for a score. A blocked PAT kept the score at 19-0 going into the half.
The Cobras opened the second half and moved the ball until Kelton Brackett intercepted a pass and ran it back into Cobra territory. A Bandit field goal attempt went wide. Both defenses clamped down and a series of punts wound down the clock leaving the Bandits with a 19-0 victory and a #1 seed in the playoffs. The remaining seeds are yet to be clinched going into the last two weeks of the season.
