Connecticut Panthers – Colonial Conference Champions

PORTLAND, ME- Andrew Pratt’s interception in overtime sets up a 22 yard scoring run by Shonte Wynn giving the Connecticut Panthers a 37-31 win over the undefeated Southern Maine Raging Bulls. The win gives the Panthers their second NEFL Championship in as many years. “We’ve put together two great seasons” said owner Derek Bortz, “these guys just love to play in big games.”

Nobody performed better than “Do-Everything player” Jamie Bryant. For the second year in a row Bryant was named Game MVP. Inserted into the game at quarterback in the second half, “Rocket” controlled the game with both his feet and his arm. “He’s such a great runner that people under estimate his ability to pass the ball”.
The Panthers are the first team since the 2010-2011 Connecticut Bearcats to win back to back AAA Championships. The win is also the fifth consecutive championship won by a team from the southern divisions.
