20th Annual NEFL Championship Game

TALE OF THE TAPE

SABERS

PANTHERS

Husson University product Jeremy Shorey has 17 TD passes during the regular season. He has great poise and is the true leader of the team.

QB

Rich Snowden has won two NEFL Championships and earned the MVP in both. Hampered with injuries this season, can he pull out one more big game?

DII All American at SCSU, Jon Wiechman is the key of the Sabers ground attack. Collecting 300 rushing yards against Lowell, expect him to get plenty of carries early to set the tone.

RB

Utilized the latter part of the season and playoffs, Anrae Farier has changed the Panthers offensive focus. At 6'1 230, he's the perfect complement to Snowden's passing attributes.

The Sabers have three 6" 5″ receivers in tight ends Kendrick Ballantyne & Travis Barnies, and WR Shane Ciriello. Ballantyne was an All-American TE at Northeastern, and spent a year with the Baltimore Ravens.

WR/TE

Akwan Shabazz, Dwight Franklin, and Naciki Reid are all quality players. When you add Jamie &ldquot;Rocket&rdquot; Bryant to the mix, this group becomes very dangerous.

Brothers  Matt and Jon Benson, Grabel Thomas, Cody McLean and Mike Douglas  anchor the line for the Sabers. Joining them this year is Matt Olivier. Olivier started (UCONN) in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl.

OL

Joe Verna, Mike Morle, Todd Jenkins, Khari and Cedric Stephenson protect Snowden and lead the newly impacting running attack.

Sabers defensive line is controlled by Nick Wilson and Tyler Cooke. Brandon Dorsett and Dan Swett  (6'4, 340) demand double teams and control running lanes.

DL

Defensive ends David Reese and Justin Lindon are the best combonation in the league. Tackles Cory Johnson and Moose Welch do all the dirty work for this group.

Former Maine Maritime linebackers Chris Tracy and Chris Kates are joined by Harold Erickson and Garrett Massey.

LB

Three Time Defensive Player of the Year Tylee Flowers and Gerald Patrick are both great run stoppers and strong against the pass.

The 6'2 Anthony Hicks could be the league's best athlete who can take away half the field. Lamir Whetstone is a great on the ball defender who leads the team in interceptions

DB

Jamar Rawles's experience and gamesmanship makes him very effective in big games. Safety Sir Snowden is great against the run and deters passers from throwing in the middle of the field.

Can Snowden (pictured above) add another ring to his collection?
