Wildcats in the East Coast Classic

WORCESTER, MA- The back to back North Atlantic (AA) Champion Worcester Wildcats will host the Elite Football Alliance’s Champion Long Island Red Devils in this year’s East Coast Classic. The Classic is a post season affair that matches up champions from area leagues. The match-up between the Wildcats and the Red Devils is scheduled for November 16th at Worcester State University at 6pm.

“We are happy to have these two teams in our Classic this year,” said East Coast Classic Commissioner Bernie Armstrong. “I have a deep history with both New England area football along with leagues throughout New York. This is a great way to bring it all together.”

QB Tim Bushey leads the Wildcats offensive attack

Both the Wildcats and the Red Devils have won their respective league championship in both 2018 and 2019. “They are both very consistent throughout the past few seasons. That says a lot about their organization and their coaching staff.”

The teams are led by their quarterback’s dominant play. The Wildcats Tim Bushey has led the league in both touchdown passes and passing percentage. “He’s our coach on the field,” said Wildcats owner Dennis Faulkner. “He gives us the best chance to win every time he steps on the field.” He is flanked by running back Alexander Givins-Perry. The All Star ball-carrier led the team in rushing and has shown an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.

The Red Devils are headlined by Qua Repass. The multi-talented passer collected over 1,600 yards in the air along with 27 touchdown passes. “He’s the real deal” said Head Coach Noel Epps. Repass’s top target is receivers Marc Pridgeon. With 37 catches and 8 receiving scores, Pridgeon has the ability to turn short catches into big plays.

“We have a lot of respect for Long Island,” said Faulkner. “We’ve both had long successful seasons that will culminate with a great game Saturday night. We need to be focused and ready to play to get a win against the Red Devils.”
