ROCKETMAN

HARTFORD, CT– Over the past 8 seasons, Jamie &ldquot;Rocket&rdquot; Bryant has been an issue for both opposing defenders and special team coordinators. &ldquot;Since his years with the Thunder, Rocket has always been the focus of our defensive game plan&rdquot; said current Panther teammate Court Sutherland, &ldquot;he is a player that can change a game in an instant&rdquot;. After his offense stalled the entire first half of the Southern Conference Finals, Rocket gave his team the play that they needed with his 90 yard punt return for their first score of the game. A key 18 yard reception in the fourth quarter set the Panthers up for their winning touchdown drive and a trip to the NEFL Championships. &ldquot;Guys like Tylee (Flowers) and Rocket deserves the right to play for a ring; he's had an amazing season, this would end it like it should.&rdquot;

Bryant scored a league tying 20 touchdowns this season. What makes his season special is that he scored in four different categories.  That includes:

  • 8 kick/ punt returns
  • 4 rushing
  • 2 passing
  • 6 receiving

&ldquot;He's the most versatile player I've ever seen&rdquot; said Coach Derek Bortz, &ldquot;he can do anything on the football field.&rdquot;

This weekend the Maine Sabers will have the honor to look to stop Bryant. &ldquot;We know how he can impact a game&rdquot; said GM Steve Goodrich, &ldquot;our team will obviously look to limit his touches any way we can&rdquot;. The Sabers have been successful against the league's best receivers as they held opposing offenses to under 200 passing yards per game and collecting nearly 30 interceptions. &ldquot;He's clearly earned the respect he gets in the league; it will be a great game on Saturday.&rdquot;
