The New England Football League Team Management Clinic held at the West Boylston Manor prior to the annual March 26th meeting provided new and experienced team owners a multitude of ways to better manage their business – minimizing financial exposure, and maximizing the opportunities to expand their fundraising, organizational processes and recruiting.

With a kickoff presentation from Chris Thompson, Executive Vice President of the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, participants received a comprehensive overview of community, sponsorship, group sales and other expanded revenue generation tools that well-managed professional sports teams utilize to build their business.

Following the opening, participants broke into a series of roundtables covering key areas of team management – Sponsorship, Team Administration, and Online Presence. These group discussions built upon the keynote presentation with specific examples of management strategies that successful NEFL teams utilize. The most discussed topics and strategies are summarized in the attached PDF document, which will be posted on NEFL.us, and will form the foundation of a Team Management program for all new and active owners to be able to contribute and leverage as they expand and grow their organizations.

The NEFL would like to express their sincere appreciation to Chris Thompson for his presentation, and Bernie Armstrong, Carl Oberg, Kevin Donahue, Anthony Morgante, Steve Santacroce and Dennis Faulkner for their leadership of the breakout discussions.

Look for additions to the Team Management resources on NEFL.us, and plan on joining the discussions at next year’s Team Management Clinic in 2017.
