Boston Over So. Maine in Play-In Game

The Boston Bandits defeated the Southern Maine Raging Bulls 24-21 in the North play-in game. Spotting Maine a 14-0 lead in the second quarter after a 10 yard touchdown run and 40 yard interception return for touchdown. The Bandits evened the score when Clarzell Pearl found Shane Cheltenham for an 11 yard pass and Andre Williams bullied his way into the end zone on a 4 yard run to tie the game at the half.

The Bulls regained the lead in the 4th quarter on an Alexi Colon touchdown pass. The Bandits tied the game when Pearl found Darryl Hodge on a 5 yard touchdown pass. Hodge would then intercept a pass that set up Chris DeLorey’s eventual game winning 34 yard field goal with :08 seconds remaining. After a celebration penalty, the Bandits kicked off from the 20 and kicked the ball out of bounds. The Bulls had one last chance from the Bandit 35 yard line, but Hodge closed the book on the Bulls’ season with his second interception in the of the game in the end zone.
The Bandits next travel to the Ocean State to play the #1 seeded Rhode Island Wardogs on Saturday, while the Lowell Nor’easter play the North Shore Generals Sunday in Lynn.
