Bearcats win against Armor

Rich Snowden adds another comeback victory to his resume

SPRINGFIELD, MA- In a battle against two evenly matched teams, the Connecticut Bearcats defeated the Western Mass Armor 12-6 in the final minutes of the game. “This was a great game” said head coach Dom Colivito, “both teams came to play; we just executed well down the stretch and got some great play from Richie (Snowden) when it counted”.

Snowden, who boasts four NEFL AAA Championships and numerous game winning drives, has now added another great performance to his historic career. “Last week’s lost was a tough one (30-12 vs Western Connecticut Militia), we needed to get a win this week somehow” said Snowden. Plagued with drive stopping errors the entire first half, an errand pass by the Armor Aaron Flythe was picked off and returned by Montrell Dobbs to put the Bearcats on the scoreboard before the half.

In the second half, Flythe found an open receiver to tie the game with only minutes to play. “I’ve been with Richie for a long time, I knew with the game on the line he would do all he could do to win this game”. On third and long, Snowden found a streaking Vinny Muli in the back of the end zone for what would be the winning score”.

The win gives the Bearcats a 1-1 record heading into next week’s match up with the Connecticut Panthers at Riccitelli Field in Wallingford.
