The Bandits prepare for the NEFL’s longest rivalry

GAME OF THE WEEK

Lowell Nor’easter (1-2) AT Boston Bandits (2-0)
English High School – Jamaica Plain, Ma.
7pm Kickoff

Week Four
Lowell
Boston
Players To Watch Djuan Gregory has become the go-to receiver that Lowell will depend on.

Alvin Edwards is a lockdown defender who’s is currently leading the NEFL in interceptions.
Keys To Victory Lowell must establish a balanced offensive attack to keep the aggressive Bandits defenders guessing.

Quarterback Adam Headley must spread the ball to an assortment of talented receivers.
The Skinny One of the longest running rivalries in minor league football will take the field again this weekend.

Lowell is going through an organizational facelift by moving from longtime veterans and bringing in young talent. Receivers Matt Korber and Christian Guzman are key pieces in an offense headed by Hall of Famer and new coordinator John Speidel. The defense is still manned in the middle by All Star Malcolm Wynn. His experience and leadership gives his team a chance to win each week.

The 2-0 Bandits are looking to continue their winning ways in 2014. Headley is surrounded by a talented flock of receivers such as Ty Brooks, Daryl Hodge and Fitz Lee. JD Brooks still heads the running game. Tackle Dareck Alcindor is one of the best linemen in the NEFL and leads a rotation of strong run stoppers.

History is the first thing you think of when these teams match up. Lowell’s 17 years of existence is only trumped by Boston’s 20. Meeting five different times in the finals is a league record; however both teams will point at Saturday’s match up as their most important one. “The next game is the key one for us” said owner Ralph Lopes, “our young guys’ love the back story of this game but we (coaching staff) know it’s a win we need to get to stay in the running”. “Lowell is Lowell” said Bandits Headley, “records don’t mean anything when we get on the field with them”.
