2014 North Atlantic Conference Playoffs

Wildcats upset Ducks; 2nd half comeback wins it for Warlords.
The 2014 North Atlantic Conference (AA) playoffs began with two Wild Card games on October 11th. The #6 seed Worcester Wildcats came out on top against the #3 seed East Coast Ducks. The two teams scored on only field goals until midway through the third quarter when the Ducks scored the first touchdown on a passing play. The lead was short lived as the Wildcats scored a touchdown of their own on the first play from scrimmage and took the lead 15-13 after the PAT was missed. Another Wildcat touchdown, scored on a fourth down in the 4th quarter increased the lead to 22-13, the game’s eventual final score.
In the other Wild Card round match-up, the #4 seeded Middlesex County Warlords scored 13 unanswered points and defeated the #5 seed Green Valley Blackhawks. The Blackhawks were leading at halftime, 12-0.
The pairing for this weekend’s Divisional Round have the Wildcats travelling to North Smithfield High School to take on the #1 seed Rhode Island Wardogs, and the Warlords going to Leominster’s Doyle Field to play the #2 seed Central Mass Sabercats. Both games scheduled to kick-off at 7pm.
